Research ProgramJuly 2010 GTech Bellmor has joined the University of Canterbury's Department of Mechanical Engineering to undertake a three year research program investigating ways to reduce noise and vibration in decanting centrifuges. The project is jointly sponsored by Technology New Zealand and The Foundation for Research Science & Technology. The project has so far focused on the identification and ranking of sources and mechanisms of vibration generation with the subsequent introduction of mitigation measures. The dynamics of the rotating assembly are also under the spotlight in a bid to increase separation efficiency and reduce power usage. |
